Insider Links Wild's Matt Dumba to Eastern Conference Team

Although the Minnesota Wild are likely going to be a playoff team this year, they are also willing to trade Matt Dumba at the deadline. Speculation about where he is going to end up is starting to increase, and the Florida Panthers are the latest team that NHL insider Frank Seravalli views as a possible landing spot for him.

The Panthers could certainly use a defenseman like Dumba, as their current group has been underperforming in 2022-23. A major reason behind this is their defensive depth, but bringing in Dumba could result in them cementing their top four for the final portion of the season. Furthermore, he could be the piece that helps them get right back into the playoff picture.

Alas, we will need to wait and see if the Panthers end up being the club that successfully acquires Dumba from here.
