New York Islanders Forward Out Indefinitely
The New York Islanders have been dealt bad injury news, as veteran forward Cal Clutterbuck will be out indefinitely due to an upper-body injury. In response to this news, the Islanders have called up top prospect Aatu Raty.
With the Islanders aiming to climb up the Eastern Conference standings, it is not ideal in the slightest that they are losing one of their important bottom-six forwards. Although Clutterbuck does not offer too much offensively, his immense physicality and defensive play allow him to be a key part of their group. As a result, the Islanders will be hoping that he has a speedy recovery without any setbacks from here.
The Islanders have been having a lot of scoring trouble this season, so they will be hoping that Raty can help change things on that front a bit. He has the potential to be a top-six forward in this league later down the road, but let’s see if he can make an impact during this latest call-up. In seven games with New York this year, he has two goals.
