The Rangers signed Harpur in late October after he impressed with the Hartford Wolf Pack while on a PTO contract with them. Now, just a few months later, his play has impressed the Rangers enough that he has now earned a multi-year pact to remain with the Blueshirts from here.
Harpur has earned himself a role with the Rangers this season due to his reliable defensive play. It will be intriguing to see how he now responds to earning this contract from here. At the end of the day, the Rangers are keeping one of their depth defenseman around at a cheap price with this move.
