NHL Rumors: 3 Coyotes Being Discussed in Trade Talks
The Arizona Coyotes will continue to sell off some assets ahead of the March 3 trade deadline. This could include some surprising names as the 'Yotes have drafting Connor Bedard clear in their sites to finish off this season. Here's three Coyotes who are rumored to be actively discussed in trade talks:
Karel Vejmelka
If Vejmelka is indeed available, there's going to be a long list of teams inquiring about the asking price. The list includes the LA Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, and Buffalo Sabres. The asking price is likely a first-round pick and top forward prospect.
Marek on the #Yotes: “I think that they might even look at moving Karel Vejmelka, the outstanding net minder, and we all know what a feeding frenzy that will be if that netminder is on the market”.

Vejmelka is signed through the 2024-25 season at only $2.7 million per season. He doesn't hold any trade protection and can be moved at will. The 26-year-old has posted a .902 Sv.% in 30 appearances this season.
Shayne Gostisbehere
A lot of the trade attention has been casted on Jakob Chychrun this season and rightfully so, it's not often a player comes out and admits he wants to be traded to a contender. However, Coyotes defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere is also available out of Arizona and there's several teams in the mix. The Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Seattle Kraken are all interested and expect to see talks advance in the coming weeks. Gostisbehere has recorded 28 points in 41 games. He's a pending unrestricted free agent, making $4.5 million against the cap.
Nick Ritchie
While Chychrun is a given, teams have also been calling about Nick Ritchie. The Coyotes power forward plays a heavy game and is a great net-front presence who can help out a struggling power play. Ritchie has recorded 18 points in 38 games and like Gostisbehere is a rental. The Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals are two teams to keep an eye on here.
