NHL Rumors: Blackhawks & Hurricanes Talking Blockbuster
Earlier this week, we reported that the Carolina Hurricanes are emerging as a potential landing spot for Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews. Now, more fuel is being added to that fire, as the Fourth Period has reported that the Hurricanes are one of the teams making a push Toews.
It ultimately makes sense that the Hurricanes are looking to acquire Toews. After all, they have yet to find a replacement for Vincent Trocheck at the second-line center position, and Toews could be a potential way to fix that. While playing at his best, he is still an effective point producer, and that could even heighten if he plays with better talent in Carolina.
Alas, it will be intriguing to see if the Hurricanes’ interest in Toews leads to him being dealt there from here. On paper, there appears to be a real match here, as Toews would have the chance to paly with a Stanley Cup contender again.
