It has been a year of ups and downs for the Calgary Flames, and they are expected to be active buyers at the trade deadline because of it. There’s scoring depth has been their primary issue as well, so don’t be surprised to see them acquire a scoring winger before the deadline passes. With Detroit Red Wings winger Tyler Bertuzzi being a rental candidate, he could be the perfect player for them to try to make a push for.

Bertuzzi has missed a lot of the season due to injury, but everybody knows that he is a quality top-six forward when healthy and playing at his best. As a result, he could be the perfect rental for a team like the Flames to acquire, so don’t be surprised to see them enter the sweepstakes before the deadline passes. Furthermore, his extreme physicality would make him a great fit with the Flames' system.

The Red Wings have a big decision to make with Bertuzzi, but if they do in fact elect to shop him instead of signing him to an extension, don’t be surprised in the slightest to see the Flames have him on their wish list.
