NHL Rumors: Calgary Flames Linked to Coyotes Defenseman

The Calgary Flames have had mixed results this season, and a major reason behind this has been their scoring woes. As a result, they are expected to bring in a forward before the trade deadline, but they also should consider bringing in an offensive defenseman to generate more production from the point. As a result, Arizona Coyotes defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere could be a spectacular addition to them.

Gostisbehere is once again having a very strong season, and the Coyotes would likely love to keep them around because of it. Yet, due to the fact that he is a pending UFA and has a good amount of trade value, Arizona will surely look to get some prospects and/or draft picks for such a valuable asset. Several teams have already been linked to him, but on paper, there may not be a better fit for him than the Flames.

It will be interesting to see if Calgary decides to make a legitimate push for Gostisbehere from here. He certainly could be a solid addition to the second pairing, but we will have to wait and see if the move comes to fruition from here.
