NHL Rumors: Calgary Flames Linked to Coyotes Winger

The Arizona Coyotes are going to be one of the biggest sellers at this year’s trade deadline. Players like Jakob Chychrun and Shayne Gostisbehere are their biggest trade candidates, but pending UFA Nick Ritchie is also a target garnering interest around the NHL. The Calgary Flames are reportedly one of the teams making a push for the power forward.

The Flames certainly could use more forward depth, as they have had significant scoring woes this year. This is a major reason why their record is not as strong as they had hoped so far. As a result, adding a big-bodied winger like Ritchie to their group could certainly be worthwhile. After all, he provides strong secondary scoring and immense physicality while playing at his best.

We will have to wait and see if the Flames end up reuniting the Ritchie brothers from here. On paper, there appears to be an excellent match here, but time will tell if it comes to fruition.
