NHL Rumors: Carolina Hurricanes Linked to Old Friend

Montreal Canadiens defenseman Joel Edmundson is being talked about a lot in the rumor mill. It is understandable, as the Canadiens are rebuilding, and he is one of their top defensemen. It appears that he is getting plenty of interest, too, as the Fourth Period has reported that the Carolina Hurricanes are linked to him.

Edmundson is a familiar face to the Hurricanes, as he spent the 2019-20 season with them. Now, the chance of a reunion between the Hurricanes and Edmundson seems like a legitimate possibility. When noting that he is an effective defensive defenseman who plays a very physical game, he could be a perfect fit for Carolina as they gear up for their postseason run.

The Hurricanes could certainly use a little bit of help on the left side, so we will have to wait and see if this interest in Edmundson ends up leading to him being moved there from here. On paper, he could be a perfect fit on either their second pairing or bottom pairing.
