NHL Rumors: Chicago Blackhawks Forward Linked to Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs are having a very strong 2022-23 season, and they are set to be major buyers at the deadline because of it. It is understandable, as they are desperately trying to break their first-round curse. They have been linked to several potential trade candidates, and they have Chicago Blackhawks forward Max Domi on their radar, according to The Fourth Period.
This is an intriguing development, as Domi reportedly expressed interest in playing for Toronto this past offseason at a cheap cap hit, but they passed on him. Yet, due to his fantastic year thus far, it appears that the Leafs are now having a change of heart. In 39 games on the year, the 27-year-old forward has 12 goals to go along with 28 points. The Leafs would certainly benefit from adding that kind of production to their middle six.
It will be intriguing to see if Domi ends up being moved to the Maple Leafs from here, but on paper, there seems to be a potential fit there.
