NHL Rumors: Colorado Avalanche Linked to Canucks Star
Bo Horvat is one of the top rental candidates heading into the trade deadline, and the Vancouver Canucks are likely to move him if they are unable to get themselves back into the playoff race. Several teams are already expressing interest in the Canucks captain, and that is likely to only continue as we get closer to the deadline. In a recent piece for Daily Faceoff, Frank Seravalli wrote that the Colorado Avalanche could be a prime landing spot for Horvat.
The Avalanche are looking to repeat as Stanley Cup champions, but it is clear that they would be wise to make a major addition to help their chances of that occurring. After losing Nazem Kadri to the Calgary Flames through free agency this summer, Colorado failed to find a strong enough replacement for the second-line center role. As a result, it would make all the sense in the world for the Avalanche to make a major push for Horvat.
For a legitimate contender, the Avalanche also have some pretty solid prospects that they could add in a trade for Horvat, so as a result, we certainly should not rule out the Avalanche in the Horvat sweepstakes. Let’s see if they end up being a lucky team to acquire him from here.
