NHL Rumors: Detroit Red Wings Forward Garnering Interest
After a promising start to the 2022-23 season, the Detroit Red Wings have fallen back down to Earth and now are likely to miss the playoffs because of it. As a result, they are viewed as one of the teams likely to be sellers this deadline season, and one player who is expected to be dealt because of this is pending UFA Adam Erne.
Erne could certainly get some attention on the market for playoff teams looking to add a bit of a boost to their bottom six. The 27-year-old winger has had a decent year offensively for the most part thus far, as he has five goals to go along with 13 points in 37 games. Although he does not dominant the league offensively, he has shown that he can produce every so often in a minimal role.
With playoff teams always looking to beef up their depth before the postseason, we should expect to see Erne dealt before the deadline passes. It will be intriguing to see where the Connecticut native ends up going from here.
