NHL Rumors: Insider Links Canucks Goalie to Penguins

There have been rumblings that the Vancouver Canucks are considering the prospect of trading away goaltender Thatcher Demko. This naturally has created a lot of buzz surrounding him in the rumor mill, and that will likely continue until the deadline passes. Rick Dhaliwal has joined in the fun, as he said that he believes that the Pittsburgh Penguins could be a team that makes a push for Demko.

The Penguins could use another goaltender, as Tristan Jarry has had trouble staying healthy, while Casey DeSmith has been fairly inconsistent. As a result, it could make sense for them to make a major splash and bring in Demko at the deadline or even during the offseason.

The Penguins would have a very strong one-two punch with Demko and Jarry, so it could be an avenue worth exploring. We will need to wait and see if the penguins and Canucks end up striking a blockbuster centering around Demko from here.
