NHL Rumors: Insider Links Canucks' Schenn to Division Rival

Luke Schenn is one of the top rental candidates heading into this year's trade deadline, and interest in his services is starting to skyrocket because of it. According to Frank Seravalli, the Calgary Flames could be a potential landing spot for the veteran defenseman.

Seravalli noted that Schenn would be a perfect fit for head coach Darryl Sutter's system, as he is an immensely physical defenseman who just so happens to block a lot of shots and is Western Canadian. With that, Sutter offered praise to Schenn earlier this season and even went on to say that "he'd be captain on most teams." Needless to say, there could be a match here.

Several teams are going to try to acquire Schenn at the deadline, but on paper, there may not be a better fit than the Flames. Let's see if they end up being the lucky team to acquire him from here.
