NHL Rumors: Insider Names Newest Blues Trade Candidate

In a recent piece for Daily Faceoff, NHL insider Frank Seravalli reported that Niko Mikkola is the latest trade target to pay attention to from the St. Louis Blues.

With the Blues not having a playoff spot at the time of this writing, they are expected to be sellers at the trade deadline. As a result, players like Ryan O’Reilly and Vladimir Tarasenko have emerged as major names in the rumor mill. Yet, now Mikkola is somebody who we very well could see dealt at the deadline, too.

Mikkola is not a star, but he is exactly the kind of depth defenseman that several playoff teams will surely make a push for. We will need to wait and see who ends up being the club to successfully acquire him from here. Some clubs to pay attention to in the sweepstakes include the Tampa Bay Lightning, Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, and Los Angeles Kings.
