NHL Rumors: LA Kings & Chicago Blackhawks Talking Trade

Even with poor goaltending this season, the Los Angeles Kings are currently second in the Pacific Division and stand a good chance of making the playoffs. However, as a way to help decrease the number of goals they allow, the Kings may not only look for a goalie but also a defensive defenseman. According to the Fourth Period, Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Jake McCabe is on the radar because of this.

With the Blackhawks rebuilding, they are expected to make several Moves at the deadline. Players like Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, and Max Domi are all prime trade candidates. Yet, McCabe has now entered the rumor mill, too, and there should be several teams pursuing the veteran defenseman.

Although McCabe does not offer too much offensively, his steady defensive play and strong physicality make him a very valuable top-four defenseman while he is playing at his best. We will have to wait and see if the Kings decide to bring in McCabe from here. After all, there have been rumblings that they are looking for a left-shot defenseman at the deadline.
