NHL Rumors: LA Kings Defenseman Available for Trade

The Los Angeles Kings are expected to be buyers at the trade deadline. This is entirely understandable, as they are currently one of the top teams in the Western Conference. However, even with this being the case, they also are open to trading away right-shot defenseman Matt Roy, according to The Fourth Period.

The Kings have a surplus of right-shot defensemen, and it isn’t a secret that they have been listening to offers due to it. Although Sean Walker is the defenseman being talked about most often from the Kings, it is now clear that Roy is also available for the right price.

Roy is a very solid defenseman, as he offers a nice blend of physicality to go along with defensive reliability. Due to this, there should be a decent market for his services. Yet, for the Kings to move him, they likely will want to forward in return or a left-shot defenseman. We will need to wait and see if Roy ends up being on the move from here.
