NHL Rumors: LA Kings Linked to Ottawa Senators Goalie
Although the Los Angeles Kings are having a strong season in the standings, it is clear that they would be wise to add another goalie before the trade deadline. Longtime AHL netminder Pheonix Copley has emerged as their top goalie, as Jonathan quick in Cal Petersen both have struggled immensely this campaign. In a recent piece for Daily Faceoff, Mike McKenna argued that Los Angeles should make a real run for Ottawa Senators goalie Cam Talbot because of this.
Talbot is one of the top rental candidates at the goaltender position this deadline season, and if the Ottawa Senators are unable to heat up soon, he will likely be dealt because of it. There’s no question that he would be a very solid option for the Kings if acquired, as he has been better than both Quick and Petersen this campaign.
Talbot could be the perfect upgrade in net for Los Angeles, so we will have to wait and see if they end up making a push for him from here. He certainly would provide the Kings with a much-needed spark in goal, so it is fair to argue that the fit is there on paper.
