NHL Rumors: LA Kings Linked to Philadelphia Flyers Defenseman

According to Dennis Bernstein, the Los Angeles Kings are currently attached to Philadelphia Flyers Defenseman Ivan Provorov in the rumor mill.

It was recently reported that the Flyers are shopping Provorov, and it does make sense that the Kings are at least considering the prospect of acquiring him. After all, the left side of their defense certainly could use an upgrade, and Provorov would provide them with just that if acquired.

Although Provorov has had some struggles this season, he’s a legitimate top-four defenseman while playing his best hockey. As a result, he could end up being a fantastic addition to the Kings if he’s acquired, and he even could be in the running to play on their top pairing. With the Kings looking to make a deeper playoff run this season, adding a player like Provorov could be the kind of move that leads to just that.

Alas, we will have to wait and see if Provorov ends up heading to LA from here. On paper, the fit appears to be there.
