NHL Rumors: Maple Leafs Looking to Add to Blue Line

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been scouting several teams these past few weeks as management looks to become buyers before the March 3 trade deadline. According to multiple sources the Leafs are in the market for a top-four defenseman and have some concerns over the health of their current group.

The likes of Morgan Rielly, TJ Brodie and Rasmus Sandin have all be injured of late and this doesn't include Jake Muzzin who is likely out for the season.

Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas has been in attendance lately scouting the Philadelphia Flyers and Arizona Coyotes, two teams who are sellers ahead of March 3. The likes of Justin Braun of the Flyers and Jakob Chychrun of the Coyotes appear to be trade targets for Toronto.

Toronto is loaded with high-end prospects who are getting close to NHL ready and could dangle a couple of these youngsters along with their first-round pick to make a major splash ahead of the trade deadline. Dubas does not have a contract for next season and is essentially managing for some job security. Something that doesn't bother the bold executive as he'll be aggressive as ever these next few weeks.
