NHL Rumors: Maple Leafs Making Multiple Trades Ahead of Deadline
The Toronto Maple Leafs are going all in this season as general manager Kyle Dubas is managing for his career as the executive does not have a contract for next season. Regardless of the job security, Dubas is going to manage the Maple Leafs with the team's short-term and long-term interests in mind.
This means expect to see multiple trades out of Toronto ahead of the March 3 trade deadline as several reports have surfaced citing the Leafs are looking to add two forwards and one defenseman this season. The team has been linked to Ryan O'Reilly of the St Louis Blues, Timo Meier of the San Jose Sharks and Jakob Chychrun of the Arizona Coyotes of late.
Pierre LeBrun on OverDrive: “I would not be surprised if they [TOR] added on defence, added up front, & maybe even added twice up front.”

“I think Timo Meier is a guy that the Leafs would have among their list of options. Again, because he wouldn’t be a rental.”#LeafsForever
The Maple Leafs aren't expected to have defenseman Jake Muzzin return this season and with their slew of injuries this season, need to acquire some more depth. If Chychrun isn't the answer on the back end, look for Dubas to inquire about Vladislav Gavrikov from the Columbus Blue Jackets and Jake McCabe of the Chicago Blackhawks.
One thing we do know, don't look for Toronto to acquire another goaltender as they are all set in the crease.

"It's definitely a thing," Sheldon Keefe says.
One playoff home goalie, one playoff road goalie. Do it.
