NHL Rumors: Minnesota Wild Linked to Florida Panthers Forward

In a recent piece for Daily Faceoff, NHL insider Frank Seravalli noted that the Minnesota Wild’s primary objective at the deadline should be to add a center. With Sam Bennett’s name being thrown around the rumor mill, he could be an ideal trade target for Minnesota.

The Wild are heading into the second half of the season with the expectations that they will be preparing for a long playoff run. However, although they certainly have a promising roster, they absolutely would benefit from adding another high-impact center before the deadline passes. Bennett certainly can fit that description while playing at his best, so it would make sense for Minnesota to make a real push for him.

Bennett offers a nice mixture of strong offensive play, reliable defensive play, and immense physicality. Playoff teams love to get their hands on him at the deadline, but let’s see if the Wild end up being a lucky club that does just that.
