NHL Rumors: Minnesota Wild Looking to Make Big Splash

According to Bruce Garrioch, the Minnesota Wild are one of the many teams expressing interest in Arizona Coyotes star defenseman Jakob Chychrun.

With the Wild looking to cement themselves as legitimate contenders, it is not surprising to hear in the slightest that they are one of the teams looking to acquire Chychrun. After all, he would provide them with a significant boost on their top pairing and could make enough of an impact for them to keep up with the best teams in the Western Conference.

The Wild reportedly are open to trading Matt Dumba because of his pending unrestricted free-agent status and their limited cap space due to the Ryan Suter and Zach Parise buyout penalties. If they do this, it certainly could open the door for the Wild to make a significant push for Chychrun at the deadline, so we will have to wait and see if the wild end up successfully acquiring the star from here.
