NHL Rumors: New Jersey Devils & St. Louis Blues Talking Trade

The New Jersey Devils have cooled off just a bit since their amazing start to the season. However, even with this being so, they are still among the top teams in the Eastern Conference standings, so their playoff hopes are extremely high. Yet, their recent struggles show that they should look to make a big move at the deadline to keep up with their competition. According to The Fourth Period, they are one of the clubs linked to St. Louis Blues star Vladimir Tarasenko because of it.

Tarasenko is one of the top rental candidates heading into the deadline. The veteran winger requested a trade during the 2021 Offseason, and now it seems that his trade request will finally be honored with the Blues' playoff hopes being very low. If the Devils added him, they would have another legitimate top-six winger in their group, and that could allow them to take that next step.

Alas, it will be intriguing to see if New Jersey's interest in Tarasenko leads to them acquiring him before the deadline passes.
