NHL Rumors: New Team Enters Gavrikov Sweepstakes

Vladislav Gavrikov is one of the top defenseman rental candidates available for this year’s trade deadline. As a result, the Columbus Blue Jackets are receiving plenty of calls regarding the left-shot defenseman. However, it appears that a new team has entered the mix, as the Fourth Period has reported that the Boston Bruins are now interested in the veteran defenseman.

The Bruins have Stanley Cup aspirations, so it makes sense that they are being linked to another notable trade target. Gavrikov could be a nice addition to their second or third pairing, as he has shown that he can play both sides if needed. Furthermore, he offers a nice mixture of solid defense of play to go along with occasional offense. As a result, he certainly has the potential to be a very good addition to Boston.

We will need to wait and see if Boston’s interest in Gavrikov results in him becoming a Bruin before the trade deadline officially passes.
