The San Jose Sharks are set to be major sellers, and they do not have a bigger trade target at the deadline than Timo Meier. The star winger is garnering a ton of interest because of it, and now there appears to be a new club in the mix. According to The Fourth Period, the New Jersey Devils are now linked to him.

After years of mediocrity, the Devils have finally taken that next step and look like a legitimate playoff team because of it. Yet, although they certainly have improved greatly, they also should be aiming to strengthen their forward group to keep up with their Eastern Conference rivals. Adding Meier to their top six on a line with Jack Hughes would be a major way to help with this.

The Devils are finally ready to go on a run, so now’s the time to make a big splash and land Meier. Let’s see if the Sharks and Devils end up striking a deal centering around the star from here.
