NHL Rumors: New York Islanders Linked to Canucks Forward
The New York Islanders are having a decent bounce-back season in 2022-23, but it is clear that they still have issues with their roster that they need to address. More specifically, they have been on the hunt for a legitimate top-six scorer for some time, but they have yet to land one. Yet, that could change at the deadline, as Vancouver Canucks winger Andrei Kuzmenko could be the perfect rental for them to acquire.
Kuzmenko would fit beautifully on a line with Mathew Barzal, as he has shown in his rookie season that he can score at the NHL level. In 39 games on the year thus far, the 26-year-old winger has 17 goals to go along with 35 points. Overall, he has been simply excellent for Vancouver, but due to his pending UFA status, there's a real chance that we see him dealt at the deadline.
Alas, there's no question that Kuzmenko would be a major addition for the Islanders if acquired, so let's see if they end up landing the 5-foot-11 forward from here.
