NHL Rumors: Philadelphia Flyers Forward Becoming Trade Candidate
In a recent piece for The Fourth Period, Anthony Di Marco reported that the Philadelphia Flyers are not actively shopping Travis Konecny, but he also noted that the star winger is not untouchable and the Flyers would move him if the right offer came along.
Konecny has been a perfect fit for John Tortorella's system, so it would make sense for the Flyers to hold onto him as they embrace a rebuilding/retooling period. After all, he has been excellent for the Flyers when healthy, and he could be the heart-and-soul kind of player that they could aim to build around from here. However, at the same time, his trade value is at its highest, so the Flyers also could look to take advantage of that.
Konecny will certainly garner trade interest at the deadline, but a trade is not a guarantee either. We will have to wait and see if the Flyers receive an offer strong enough for them to part ways with Konecny at the deadline from here.
