NHL Rumors: Pittsburgh Penguins to Shop Forward
In his recent piece for Daily Faceoff, Frank Seravalli reported that the Pittsburgh Penguins could trade Teddy Blueger before the trade deadline.
Blueger’s role with the Penguins has decreased the season, and he also is a pending unrestricted free agent. As a result, the Penguins may be open to moving Blueger a part of a trade package that lands them an upgrade to their current group.
It’s likely that teams would express interest in Blueger, too. While playing his best hockey, Blueger is a very solid bottom-six forward who can contribute decent secondary scoring in the process. Furthermore, his strong defensive play makes him a valuable asset on a team’s penalty kill. Therefore, it seems quite likely that teams would love the idea of bringing him in.
We will have to wait and see if Blueger ends up getting moved from here, but it is starting to seem that the chances of that occurring are higher.
