NHL Rumors: San Jose Sharks Shopping Defenseman
The San Jose Sharks are one of the worst teams in the NHL at this time, and they are expected to be major sellers at the trade deadline because of it. Star players like Erik Karlsson and Timo Meier have been in the rumor mill because of it, but now other players from San Jose are starting to get some buzz. According to The Fourth Period, Scott Harrington could be made available as a rental at the deadline.
At this point in his career, Harrington would probably be best described as being a seventh defenseman. Although he is not a star, that does not mean that he wouldn’t be a decent addition to a playoff team before the postseason begins. After all, injuries always seem to arise as the year continues, so it would not be bad for a postseason club to add him for depth.
With Harrington having a cheap cap hit and a good amount of NHL experience, we should not be surprised if he ends up being moved before the deadline passes. Alas, time will tell what happens on that front.
