NHL Rumors: Seattle Kraken Linked to Blues Forward

Ryan O’Reilly is one of the top rental candidates heading into the trade deadline, so he naturally is getting a lot of attention on the trade market. Now, it appears that a new team is expressing interest in the veteran, as the Fourth Period has reported that the Seattle Kraken are linked to the St. Louis Blues captain.

Although O’Reilly has had a down year in 2022-23, it is quite apparent that he would benefit a playoff team like the Kraken due to his strong two-way play and immense experience. With Seattle’s center depth also needing a boost, O’Reilly would certainly provide it with just that.

Alas, we will need to wait and see if the Kraken end up being the lucky team to acquire O’Reilly before this year’s trade deadline passes. On paper, there seems to be a real match here, but time will tell if it does in fact come to fruition from here.
