NHL Rumors: Surprising Team Linked to Jakob Chychrun

Since last season, Arizona Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun has been one of the biggest names in the rumor mill. Yet, even with this being the case, he is still a Coyote at the time of this writing. Interest in his services is continuing to skyrocket, so a trade could very well occur at any moment. Plenty of contenders are linked to the star defenseman, but there’s also a surprising team looking to add him – the Anaheim Ducks.

Anaheim is viewed as being one of the top sellers heading into this year's deadline. This is understandable, as they are completely out of the playoff race and have a number of quality rental candidates as well. So, why would they want to add a player like Chychrun? Well, this is because he is a young top-pairing defenseman who has multiple years left on his contract. Furthermore, Anaheim is trying to move out of their rebuilding stage, and this could be the type of move that may help them take that next step.

It will be intriguing to see if Arizona and Anaheim make this blockbuster trade, but if the Ducks have it their way, they will be the lucky club that ends up landing him before the deadline passes.
