NHL Rumors: Tampa Bay Lightning Linked to Blues Defenseman

The Tampa Bay Lightning are once again one of the best teams in the NHL, but it never hurts to add depth before the postseason. It appears that is exactly what the lightning or trying to do, as they are currently linked to St. Louis Blues defenseman Niko Mikkola.

Mikkola may not be as big of a trade target as teammates like Ryan O’Reilly, Vladimir Tarasenko, and Ivan Barbashev, but he still could be a decent addition for a playoff team in need of some depth on their blue line. As a result, it makes sense that Tampa Bay is at least Considering The prospect I’m bringing in the 6-foot-4 defenseman.

Mikkola could be a strong addition to the Lightning’s bottom pairing, so we will have to wait and see if they end up making a big push for him from here. On paper, there seems to be a fantastic fit here, so let's see if a move ends up coming to fruition from here.
