NHL Rumors: Vancouver Canucks' Horvat Linked to Surprising Team
Vancouver Canucks star Bo Horvat is one of the top rental candidates for this year’s trade deadline, and he naturally has been linked to several teams because of it. The Boston Bruins, Seattle Kraken, Carolina Hurricanes, and Colorado Avalanche are just a few of the teams expressing interest, but a new club may be joining the sweepstakes. According to Jeff Marek, a source mentioned to him that Horvat could be a long-term fit for the Edmonton Oilers.
This is a pretty intriguing scenario to think about. The Oilers are of course looking to make a legitimate playoff run this season, and bringing in another star forward like Horvat should help their chances of doing that, at least on paper. Yet, at the same time, they also are on the hunt for a high-impact defenseman.
Horvat would be a major addition for Edmonton, but they would need to move out some salary to help a potential blockbuster centering around him comes to fruition. We will have to wait and see if Edmonton ends up landing him from here.
