NHL Rumors: Washington Capitals Linked to Canucks Star
Vancouver Canucks captain Bo Horvat is one of the biggest trade targets heading into the 2023 trade deadline. He is a pending UFA who is having a fantastic Season, so the Canucks are expected to take advantage of his higher trade value and move him instead of running the risk of losing him for nothing. According to Frank Seravalli, the Washington Capitals may end up in play for services.
The Capitals are very likely to try to add a top-six forward to their group before the deadline. After all, they are looking to win at least one more Stanley Cup during the Alexander Ovechkin era, and they also have had several injuries with their forward group this season. As a result, bringing in a star like Horvat certainly makes sense for them, and he could be the last piece that helps them officially be legitimate contenders again.
Horvat could work beautifully in Washington’s top six, so will be interesting to see if they end up making a legitimate push for him before the deadline passes. We’ll have to wait and see what comes to fruition on that front, but out of all the trade targets potentially available this deadline season, Horvat may be the best fit for DC.
