San Jose Sharks Claim Forward Off Waivers

Michael Eyssimont’s time with the Winnipeg Jets is officially over, as he has been claimed off waivers by the San Jose Sharks.

Eyssimont appeared in 19 games for the Jets the season, where he had one goal, four assists, and a plus-5 rating. Overall, the 26-year-old center performed well in a bottom-six role, and now he will be aiming to do that as a Shark from here.

With San Jose being near the bottom of the NHL standings, they are in a position to take chances on players like him. With the Sharks, he could be in line for a bigger role, as their forward group is far weaker than the Jets’.

In response to this move, Radim Simek has been placed on injured reserve to free up a roster spot for Eyssimont. Alas, it will be intriguing to see how the rookie responds to this waiver claim from here.
