Sharks Rumors: Surprising Team Linked to Timo Meier

The Philadelphia Flyers are expected to be sellers at the trade deadline, as they currently are out of the playoff picture. However, even with this being so, it appears that they also are willing to bring in notable younger players if they feel that they can help their future. According to The Fourth Period, they are one of the clubs currently linked to San Jose Sharks star Timo Meier.

Meier certainly would be a huge addition to the Flyers, as he would give them another high-impact player. When noting that he is a pending RFA, Philadelphia could offer him a long-term deal in hopes that he's willing to be a part of their core for years to come.

Meier is going to have several teams linked to him before the deadline, so it is not a slam dunk that the Flyers will be the lucky club to land him. It is a little surprising to hear that they are in on him, but alas, let's see if the Flyers and Sharks strike a deal from here.
