Arizona Coyotes Rumors: Chychrun Being Linked to New Team

The Arizona Coyotes are preparing to trade star defenseman Jakob Chychrun, and a number of teams have been linked to him because of it. However, a new team has entered the mix, as The Fourth Period has reported that the Calgary Flames are aiming to acquire the 2016 first-round pick.

The 2022-23 season has been disappointing for the Flames thus far, so it makes sense that they are looking to make a major move and bring Chychrun in. At the time of this writing, their playoff spot is not guaranteed, as they are currently fighting for the final wild card spot with the Minnesota Wild. However, bringing in a high-impact defenseman like Chychrun could be exactly the boost they need to get past Minnesota.

Chychrun is once again having a very good season, as he has seven goals, 28 points, and a plus-8 rating. When noting that he also offers strong defensive play and some physicality, he is exactly the kind of defenseman that Calgary desperately needs right now.
