Blues Forward Robert Thomas Claps Back at Head Coach
St Louis Blues head coach Craig Berube called out his top players after the team's recent loss and forward Robert Thomas is not having any of it. Thomas was quick to defend himself and his teammates and noted Berube's comments couldn't be further from the truth.
Considering all the major moves that are taking place in St Louis, this is not the type of rift the fan base is looking for:
Yeah, it's obviously frustrating to hear that. I've been a part of this team for a long time. What he said couldn't be further from the truth. I know everyone in that room cares. You always learn through winning, you learn a lot about what it takes to win and how a team should be in order to succeed. I think you learn even more when you're losing and when you're going through a disaster. I think this is the best time for guys to step up, including myself.
As for Berube, he recently doubled down on his comments and said he doesn't regret anything he said from this press conference:
“A lot of our best players not doing the job…I guess they don’t care about the team”
