Chicago Blackhawks Rumors: Kane Linked to Division Rival

The 2023 NHL Trade Deadline is right around the corner, so speculation over where Patrick Kane is going to end up is only continuing to increase. Now, a new team appears to have entered the mix, as The Athletic's Scott Powers and Mark Lazerus reported that the Minnesota Wild are linked to the veteran.

The Wild are in a position where they need to make a big move quickly. Per CapFriendly, they have over $16.5 million of deadline cap space to work with, so they should be aiming to be active buyers. With that, their playoff spot is not guaranteed, so bringing in a star like Kane could help their chances of making this occur.

There are a plethora of different suitors for Kane's services right now, so there is no guarantee that the Wild will end up acquiring him before the deadline passes. However, it is exactly the kind of big splash that they should be considering, so we will need to wait and see if it does in fact come to fruition from here.
