Chicago Blackhawks Rumors: Patrick Kane Linked to New Team
Chicago Blackhawks star winger Patrick Kane is going to be one of the biggest players to pay attention to at the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline. The Blackhawks are set to be major sellers during it, and Kane's pending UFA status mixed with them being in a rebuild will likely lead to the future Hall of Famer being moved. Yet, now a new team has entered the mix, as The Fourth Period has reported that the Carolina Hurricanes are linked to the Buffalo native.
It makes sense that the Hurricanes are considering bringing in Kane before the deadline passes. After all, they recently lost Max Pacioretty for the remainder of the season, and Kane would provide them with a spectacular replacement. With that, Carolina is aiming to win the Stanley Cup this postseason, so bringing in a player who has three of them on his resume certainly could help them do just that.
Kane is fielding a ton of interest around the league from contenders, so there is no guarantee that he will be dealt to Carolina. Furthermore, he has full control over where he will end up due to his NMC, but perhaps he will be open to the prospect of joining a powerhouse like the Hurricanes. Alas, time will tell what happens on that front.
