Detroit Red Wings Rumors: Bertuzzi Trade Linked to 5 Teams
The Detroit Red Wings are talking trade on winger Tyler Bertuzzi. There's growing belief there will be a completed trade before the March 3 deadline and recently, hockey insider Elliotte Friedman linked Bertuzzi to a number of teams, including:
Same goes for Tyler Bertuzzi, who Holland drafted in Detroit. As Jeff Marek reported, Dallas and Tampa Bay are there, as well. The Stars are searching for another scorer.
The Edmonton Oilers, Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning have been the latest three teams to be linked to the pesky winger, with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Penguins also on Bertuzzi's radar. The 27-year-old is a pending unrestricted free agent who appears to be winding down on his time in Motown.
So far this season, Bertuzzi has recorded eight points in 22 games and this certainly isn't helping the Red Wings leverage to land a huge trade package in the deal. Teams are hopeful he can return to the 62 points in 68 games type of production from last season. Bertuzzi makes $4.7 million against the cap and doesn't hold any trade protection.
