We’ve acquired Jake McCabe, Sam Lafferty, a conditional 5th round pick in 2024 and a conditional 5th round pick in 2025 from Chicago in exchange for a conditional 2025 1st round pick, 2026 2nd round pick, Joey Anderson and Pavel Gogolev

The Blackhawks are retaining 50% of McCabe's $4 million annual salary, which he is signed to through the 2024-25 season. Lafferty is signed to a $1.15 million contract through the rest of this season and next. He's having a fine season as Lafferty is tied for the league lead in shorthanded goals and has collected 21 points in 51 games so far this season.
McCabe will be brought into Toronto to replace what Jake Muzzin brought to the table. He's recorded 20 points in 55 games this season to go along with 122 hits and 115 blocked shots.
Sam Lafferty, acquired by TOR, is a speedy bottom six forward who kills penalties. Finishing has appeared out of nowhere this season, particularly shorthanded. #LeafsForever pic.twitter.com/3MbwqUshTf
