Montreal Canadiens Rumors: Forward Being Shopped
The Montreal Canadiens are gearing up to be among the NHL's top sellers heading into the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline. Due to this, players like Sean Monahan, Evgenii Dadonov, Joel Edmundson, and Josh Anderson has been discussed as possible trade candidates from them. Yet, another name has entered the mix, as NHL insider Frank Seravalli has listed Jonathan Drouin on his trade targets board.

We've got 45 names on the board, incl new guys #SeaKraken Carson Soucy, #RedWings Jake Walman, #Canucks Nils Hoglander + more ⬇️https://t.co/YS558xqto4
Drouin could be a potential upgrade to a team's middle six when he is performing at his best In 31 games this season, he has yet to score a goal, but he also has a solid 17 assists. With that, he has been on fire as of late, as he has recorded 12 assists over his last 12 games. Therefore, there could be some teams willing to take a chance on him if he continues to stay this hot moving forward.
Drouin could certainly garner more interest once players like Timo Meier, Tyler Bertuzzi, and Patrick Kane are off the board. Some clubs that stand out as possible landing spots include the Colorado Avalanche (as Seravalli discusses in his piece), New York Islanders, Winnipeg Jets, and Calgary Flames. Yet, salary would also need to be retained in any move centering around Drouin.
