Montreal Canadiens Rumors: Veteran Forward Being Shopped
The Montreal Canadiens are set to be sellers at the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline, and players like Sean Monahan, Evgenii Dadonov, and Joel Edmundson have emerged as possible trade candidates because of it. Yet, according to The Fourth Period, the Canadiens could also trade Mike Hoffman before the deadline passes.
Hoffman has been in the rumor mill since this past offseason, but at the time of this writing, he remains a Canadien. Yet, it appears that things could possibly change on that front, as he is playing very well as of late and getting attention around the league because of it. Over his last nine games, he has recorded nine points and looks like a top-six forward again in the process.
Teams looking to add a bit more scoring depth to their group should certainly consider making a push for Hoffman before the deadline passes. In 39 games this season, the 33-year-old has nine goals and 21 points. Although these numbers are low for his standards, he has been trending in the right direction as of late, and maybe joining a contender could lead him to produce even more frequently from here.
