Montreal Canadiens Sign Defenseman to Extension
The Montreal Canadiens have signed Jordan Harris to a two-year contract extension. He will carry a $1.4 million cap hit starting next season.
After completing his collegiate career with Northeastern University last season, Harris signed a two-year entry-level deal with the Canadiens. He has since cemented himself as a full-time player on the Canadiens' roster, and he has earned this nice extension because of it. In 47 games on the year thus far, the 22-year-old Massachusetts native has one goal to go along with 11 points. Overall, it has been a solid year for the 5-foot-11 d-man, and now he will be aiming to build off of it with this new extension.
Harris will now be a part of the Canadiens' defensive group for at least two more years with this extension. We will need to wait and see how well he progresses with his development from here. At the end of the day, it's hard not to feel happy for the young defenseman.
