NHL Rumors: 2 Frontrunners Emerge in Luke Schenn Sweepstakes
Vancouver Canucks defenseman Luke Schenn is one of the most notable defensemen currently available before the 2023 Trade Deadline. Interest in his services is starting to increase because of it. According to The Nation Network's Nick Alberga, the Boston Bruins and Calgary Flames "could be emerging as the leading contenders" for the veteran defenseman.

It makes sense that both Boston and Calgary are making big pushes to land Schenn. The veteran defenseman is having a strong season, as he has three goals, 18 point, 244 hits, and a plus-8 rating on a struggling Canucks team. Furthermore, he carries a very affordable $850,000 cap hit, so that only heightens his value.
The Bruins and Flames also could use some help on their right sides, and he seems like a perfect fit in both of their systems. We will now need to wait and see if one of these two clubs end up acquiring him shortly from here.
