NHL Rumors: Blues Showing Interest In Oilers Forward At Deadline

The Edmonton Oilers appear to have their eyes on the St. Louis Blues for the trade deadline as there is a defenceman and a couple of depth forwards they could be interested in. To complete any trade at the deadline, the Oilers are going to have to move money out. This will likely come in the way of Jesse Puljujarvi and Warren Foegele first.

Puljujarvi has been linked to the Blues by Frank Seravalli, saying that the Blues are one of the teams that inquired about him. Since St. Louis appears to be heading in a younger direction and got production out of a great deal of their forwards last season, they may feel like they can turn Puljujarvi into a productive player too.

At this stage, Puljujarvi's value is not great for the Oilers, but they are just looking to move him without having to pay any assets at this point. If they can use him in a trade to acquire help at the deadline, offensive or defensive, they will take it.

Puljujarvi has four goals and 10 points in 49 games this season and has been a healthy scratch recently. He is playing on the fourth line at best at this point and is playing nearly four minutes fewer per game than last season. Among teams that have shown any interest in Puljujarvi, the Blues appear to be one of the most promising potential landing spots.
