The Capitals are an intriguing spot heading into the deadline. It is clear that they could use another forward, and this is especially true when noting the injury trouble that they have had this season. As a result, we could see the Capitals look to improve their middle six and bring in a solid player like Toews at the deadline.
Toews is having a decent 2022-23 season, as he has 14 goals and 28 points in 46 games. Although his production is not as high as it was during his prime years, he still can make a difference due to his strong two-way play and leadership. As a result, he could provide the Caps with a big boost come playoff time, but we will need to wait and see if their interest in him results in them acquiring him from here.
