NHL Rumors: New Team Enters Chychrun Sweepstakes

Jakob Chychrun is one of the top trade targets heading into the deadline, and interest in his services is starting to increase significantly because of it. Now, a new team appears to have entered the sweepstakes, as The Fourth Period has reported that the Pittsburgh Penguins are linked to the Arizona Coyotes defenseman.

It makes sense that the Penguins are looking to bring in a star defenseman like Chychrun. When looking at their current group, it is clear that their left side could use a major boost, and Chychrun would provide it with just that. Furthermore, the Penguins are currently battling it out for the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, so they would be wise to make a blockbuster trade.

With Chychrun having multiple years left on his contract, he would also be more than just a rental for them. As a result, there seems to be a perfect match here, but we will need to wait and see if Pittsburgh ends up landing him before the deadline passes from here.
